The 2024 U.S. presidential election marks a pivotal moment in American history, as the nation stands on the edge of transformative change with the election of President-Elect Donald Trump. This new administration, like all changes in leadership, presents a unique opportunity to reflect on the foundational values that guide America and to seek divine support as we embark on a fresh journey. Inspired by spiritual teachings, ancient wisdom, and the call to unity, this transition invites us to look toward the higher purpose embedded in our national institutions: the Church, Government, and Family.

Praying for Leadership and Nation: The Role of the Church, Government, and Family

As we look forward to the transfer of power, we are called to pray fervently for the President-Elect, his family, the administration, and the current leadership. As Sid Roth notes in The Incomplete Church: Unifying God’s Children, moments of national transition are an opportunity for believers to come together, united in purpose and grounded in spiritual discernment. Three divine institutions — the Church, Government, and Family — uphold the moral and spiritual foundations of our society, each with its own role in promoting values aligned with Yahweh’s purpose. Below, we consider the key performance indicators (KPIs) and anticipated outcomes for each institution, each helping to build a society that reflects the divine order and provides guidance for all.

The Church: KPIs and Anticipated Outcomes for Spiritual Leadership

The Church, often referred to as the “Bride of Messiah,” is the spiritual anchor of society, offering moral guidance and leading communities in faith and love. In this season of transition, the Church must foster unity and serve as an example of prayer, wisdom, and Christ-like compassion. John Paul Jackson and John Sanford, in Needless Casualties of War, emphasize the importance of engaging in spiritual warfare with discernment, to avoid unnecessary conflicts and to bring forth blessings for both the outgoing and incoming leaders.

KPIs:

Prayer and Intercession for Leaders: The frequency and depth of prayers offered by congregations for national leaders, for wisdom, courage, and discernment.

Public Advocacy of Biblical Principles: Public messaging that aligns with scriptural values, encouraging unity across political and social divides.

Community Outreach Initiatives: Programs promoting unity, healing, and support for all, reflecting the Church’s role as a beacon of divine love.

Anticipated Outcomes:

Unity Among Believers: Renewed commitment to national unity within the Church community, bringing forth peace and reconciliation.

Enhanced Spiritual Discernment: Leaders and congregants gaining wisdom to navigate complex societal issues with grace and avoid unnecessary spiritual battles.

Moral Leadership in Society: Church leaders setting an example of integrity and accountability that can inspire broader social values and governmental ethics.

The Government: KPIs and Outcomes for Transparent and Just Governance

According to Scripture (Romans 13:1–4), government functions as an extension of divine justice and is accountable to God’s standards of compassion, equity, and order. In alignment with divine principles, the Government’s role in this transition is to uphold justice and order through a respectful and transparent transfer of power. N.T. Wright, in Reading Moses, Seeing Jesus, reminds us that governments are accountable to both their citizens and a higher authority, emphasizing a commitment to justice, inclusion, and mercy.

KPIs:

Transparency in Transition Procedures: Publicly accessible information on transition steps to foster trust and ensure a peaceful handover.

Inclusivity in Policy Development: Engagement with diverse perspectives in the policy-making process to ensure decisions reflect the needs of all citizens.

Adherence to the Rule of Law: Upholding laws in ways that reflect both civic responsibility and divine principles of justice.

Anticipated Outcomes:

Orderly Transfer of Power: A smooth and respectful handover between administrations, reflecting a commitment to stability and effective governance.

Public Trust in Government: Transparent actions leading to a stronger public confidence in the government’s capacity for just and compassionate leadership.

Justice-Based Governance: Policies that protect the vulnerable and uphold fairness, inspired by the divine standard of justice and compassion.

The Family: KPIs and Outcomes for Nurturing Integrity and Faith

As the bedrock of society, the Family is a foundation for faith, responsibility, and respect. In A Handbook on the Jewish Roots of the Christian Faith, families are presented as central to the continuation of divine values, as they pass down virtues that sustain social stability and spiritual alignment. In this transition, strong family units help foster unity, preparing future generations to engage in society with moral conviction and integrity.

KPIs:

Strengthening Family Support Systems: Programs and initiatives that support family relationships, spiritual growth, and emotional well-being.

Intergenerational Faith Transmission: Engagement in faith traditions within families, ensuring the continuity of divine values across generations.

Community Involvement and Service: Active family participation in service initiatives, demonstrating values of compassion and communal responsibility.

Anticipated Outcomes:

Family Unity and Resilience: Families that instill character, responsibility, and moral purpose within society.

Societal Stability: A reduction in dependence on government intervention, as strong families foster a shared responsibility within the community.

Faith-Centered Community Support: Families reinforcing both Church and Government missions, creating a network of support for societal stability.

A Collective Vision: Embracing the “New Jerusalem”

The vision of a society aligned with divine principles, often likened to the “New Jerusalem,” calls for the collaborative work of these three institutions. As Danielle Rama Hoffman suggests in The Council of Light, we can harness divine transmissions and collaborate to fulfill our highest potential. Together, the Church, Government, and Family can inspire enduring transformation by embodying and promoting principles of justice, compassion, and mercy. Through this collective effort, our society can aspire to model the values of Yahweh’s Kingdom.

Anticipated Outcomes:

A Nation Rooted in Faith and Integrity: By aligning their missions, these institutions can model justice, compassion, and integrity to the world.

Lasting Cultural Transformation: The embedding of divine values in policies and communities, creating a legacy of love, service, and righteousness.

Moving Forward with Faith: A Call to Prayer and Unity

In this season, let us pray fervently for leaders, families, and all who are part of our nation’s fabric. As Dr. Thema Bryant notes in Homecoming, true healing and unity come when we anchor ourselves in faith and humility. This transition is a call to collective responsibility, reminding us to align with a higher purpose and reflect on the vision of a society where God’s will is made manifest on earth.

With hope and determination, let us step forward, unified in purpose, to build a society that aligns with divine wisdom, justice, and compassion.
