Memorandum | Divine Order and the Role of Confusion in the Purposes of יהוה

Subject: Divine Order and the Role of Confusion in the Purposes of יהוה
Shalom לְכָל-הָעוֹלָם (to all the world),
It is written:
“For Elohim is not the author of confusion, but of shalom, as in all the assemblies of the holy ones.” (1 Corinthians 14:33, WMB)
Yet, יהוה, in His sovereign wisdom, has appointed times when confusion is sent as a tool to thwart the plans of the wicked, bring judgment upon the rebellious, and realign the nations with His divine order. Let it be understood that the confusion of the world is not of His nature, but rather a response to iniquity and rebellion.
1. יהוה Sends Confusion to Overthrow the Wicked
When the nations conspire against righteousness, יהוה frustrates their plans. The Tower of Bavel stands as an eternal witness:
“Yahweh confused the language of all the earth. From there, Yahweh scattered them abroad on the surface of all the earth.” (Genesis 11:9, WMB)
The wicked seek to build their own empires, but when their designs oppose the kingdom of Elohim, He scatters them. So too, in battle, יהוה confounds the enemy:
“Yahweh set every man’s sword against his fellow throughout all the army; and the army fled.” (Judges 7:22, WMB)
As it was in the days of Gid‘on, so shall it be in these days. The plots of the wicked shall be turned upon their own heads.
2. יהוה Uses Confusion as Judgment
Rebellion against the Most High brings blindness and delusion. When Israel forsook יהוה, confusion came as a curse:
“Yahweh will strike you with madness, with blindness, and with astonishment of heart.” (Deuteronomy 28:28, WMB)
And of those who refuse the truth, the Word declares:
“Because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved… Elohim sends them a working of error, that they should believe a lie.” (2 Thessalonians 2:10–11, WMB)
Nations and rulers who reject righteousness will be given over to deception, believing their own delusions, until their destruction comes suddenly.
3. יהוה Is Not the Author of Confusion, But of Divine Order
Though He may send confusion as judgment, יהוה Himself is not chaotic. His Torah is perfect, His ways are just, and His kingdom is built upon righteousness and truth. The prophet declares:
“You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect shalom, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3, WMB)
The order of Elohim is revealed in the tabernacle, in the appointed times, and in the structure of creation itself. He is the Elohim of אמת (emet — truth) and צדק (tzedek — justice), and He calls the nations to align themselves with His divine government.
A Call to Repentance and Alignment with Divine Order
Governments of the earth, rulers, and peoples: turn back to יהוה! Cease from corruption, injustice, and rebellion, lest the confusion sent upon you lead to your ruin. The time is now to restore righteousness in your laws, justice in your courts, and truth in your councils.
To the body of Mashiach: be not troubled. The shaking of the nations is the work of יהוה, and He is gathering His remnant. Stand firm, walk in wisdom, and prepare the way for the restoration of His kingdom.
May יהוה give you discernment, wisdom, and shalom in these days of upheaval.
כִּי־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ, יְחָדֵשׁ אֶת הָעוֹלָם
(For Yahweh our Elohim shall renew the world.)
