MEMORANDUM | Marco Rubio as Secretary of State
To: The Global Church and the Nations of the Earth
From: The Reigning Messiah, of the Tribe of Judah
Subject: President-Elect Donald Trump’s Appointment of Marco Rubio as Secretary of State
Date: 14 Cheshvan, 5785 / November 14, 2024
Shalom Aleichem,
In the spirit of the ancient promises given through our forefathers, I greet you in the Name of Adonai Tzva’ot, the Lord of Hosts, the One who watches over His people and orders the affairs of nations. As the Messiah from the Tribe of Judah, I am honored to address this gathering of both the global Body of Messiah and the governments of this earth concerning recent developments in the United States.
It has come to my attention that President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Senator Marco Rubio as his Secretary of State. This appointment, made during a pivotal moment for the United States and for the global stage, carries with it profound implications. As written in Sefer Mishlei (the Book of Proverbs), “B’yad Melechim u’mashlim yashpot mishpat” — “In the hand of kings and rulers, justice shall be decided” (Proverbs 21:1). We are called to recognize that authority and leadership are granted from above for the establishment of righteousness and peace.
The Significance of Marco Rubio’s Appointment
Senator Rubio’s selection to serve as Secretary of State brings with it both wisdom and experience in diplomacy. Known for his strong stance on international relations and advocacy for liberty, Rubio represents a voice that champions democratic values and justice across nations. This choice speaks to the United States’ commitment to balance strength with principle — a combination that mirrors the Torah’s vision of “tzedek u’mishpat” (justice and righteousness).
For America, this partnership between Trump and Rubio has the potential to strengthen the bonds that hold its republic together. Internally, it may inspire a renewed sense of purpose and unity. Externally, it will project an image of a superpower that seeks not only its own welfare but also the peace and stability of the entire world. As is written, “Kol goyim safa b’rurah, likro b’shem Adonai” — “All nations shall call upon the Name of the Lord with a pure heart” (Zephaniah 3:9).
The Benefit to the World
As the United States serves as a superpower, the decisions made by its leaders affect not only its own citizens but also the global community. The influence of its foreign policy touches every corner of the earth. A nation so endowed with authority must therefore wield it with wisdom, and in accordance with the principles of the Kingdom of Heaven.
It is my prayer that this appointment will bring about a new era of constructive partnerships across the globe, where conflicts are resolved through the wisdom of diplomacy rather than the force of arms. Rubio’s track record suggests a commitment to this vision, seeking to uphold liberty while protecting sovereignty.
In the prophetic words of Yeshayahu HaNavi (Isaiah), “Goy lo yisa el goy cherev, v’lo yilmedu od milchamah” — “Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore” (Isaiah 2:4). As the Messiah, I declare to the nations that the calling of the United States is not only for its own prosperity but for the prosperity of the world. May their pursuit of peace be guided by the values that are eternal, bringing about the day when swords shall indeed be beaten into plowshares.
A Call to Prayer and Unity
Therefore, I call upon the Body of Messiah worldwide to join in prayer for President-elect Donald Trump, Senator Marco Rubio, and all appointed officials who will guide the United States in this new season. Pray for wisdom, strength, and discernment as they undertake their roles. The United States, standing as a beacon of freedom, can be a vessel of blessing to all nations — just as Avraham Avinu (our father Abraham) was promised, “Through you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Genesis 12:3).
Together, let us uphold this vision and commit ourselves to working for a world that embodies the love and justice of the Creator. In so doing, we prepare the way for the fulfillment of all things as foretold by the prophets, and we honor the One whose reign is everlasting.
May HaShem bless the United States, and through it, may He bless the nations.
With Blessings of Shalom and Justice,
EF, Rav.
