Subject: Reflections and Guidance Regarding Decisions by President-Elect Donald Trump and the Transition of Authority

Date: November 14th, 2024

Greetings in the Name of the Most High, Blessed Be His Name, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

As we stand on the cusp of transition, when one administration departs, and a new one enters, we look to the future with both discernment and hope, holding fast to the words of the Almighty. “For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11, World Messianic Bible). Thus, in light of recent political developments, we seek to align with righteousness and justice, upholding divine values as we evaluate leadership and decisions of authority.

1. Establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)

President-Elect Donald Trump, in his post-election commitments, has announced the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative to reduce bureaucratic burdens and promote streamlined governance. As a global community, we recognize that efficiency in governance can serve the people well, reflecting the principle found in Proverbs: “A leader of great understanding has great patience, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly” (Proverbs 14:29). Such efforts at simplification align with principles of wise stewardship.

As this new agency comes into existence, we pray that it will foster humility, justice, and equity. May it serve as a beacon of accountability and focus on wise expenditure, ensuring that resources benefit the well-being of all citizens and protect the dignity of the poor and vulnerable.

2. The Appointment of Susie Wiles as White House Chief of Staff

In a landmark decision, President-Elect Trump has appointed Susie Wiles as the first female Chief of Staff. Wiles, known for her dedication and strategic insight, brings decades of political expertise. Her background includes work with leaders such as President Ronald Reagan and Governor Ron DeSantis. As we commend her accomplishments, let us pray that she embodies the virtues of Deborah, who served as a prophet and judge over Israel, leading with wisdom and strength (Judges 4). May she, too, find favor with the Lord as she embarks upon her responsibilities with faith and discernment.

3. The Appointment of Stephen Miller as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy

Stephen Miller’s return to policy development reflects a commitment to address immigration with a strong focus on enforcement. Miller’s tenure as a senior advisor in the previous administration was marked by hardline positions on immigration, aiming to uphold the nation’s sovereignty. While securing borders is essential, let us not neglect the calling of Leviticus 19:34: “The foreigner who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

In this, may wisdom temper zeal. Let compassion and justice guide the policies that will shape the lives of immigrants and ensure that both security and mercy remain pillars of governance.

4. The Appointment of Mike Waltz as National Security Adviser

Mike Waltz, a veteran and retired Army National Guard officer, has been designated as National Security Adviser. As nations grapple with issues of conflict and division, from tensions in the Middle East to the balance of power among superpowers, Waltz’s role will demand clarity, courage, and a heart of righteousness. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9).

We pray for Waltz and all security leaders, that they may walk in the way of peace, upholding the defense of the nation and striving for stability. May they have the wisdom to discern when to seek diplomacy and the courage to stand firm when righteousness calls.

A Call for Discernment and Faith

In this season of change, let the global church and all nations remember our charge to seek the welfare of the people and the peace of the land. “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). As policies are crafted, as new leaders rise, and as reforms take shape, let us, with one voice, intercede for the leaders of this world.

May President-Elect Donald Trump, his appointed advisors, and each soul who will influence governance in the coming years be guided by the Almighty. And let us, as the Body of the Messiah, remain steadfast, lifting up prayers, speaking truth in love, and offering aid where needed. Together, may we hasten the coming of a world aligned with divine will, when justice flows like water, and righteousness as an everlasting stream (Amos 5:24).

May the Lord bless and keep you all.

Shalom and Blessings,

EF, Rav.

The Messiah
