Subject: Reflection on the Legacy of Rosalynn Carter, the Carter Family, and a Call to Prayer for President Donald J. Trump and the Nation

Shalom Aleichem,

Today, November 19, marks one year since the passing of Rosalynn Carter, a woman of noble character, whose legacy as a servant leader, advocate for mental health, and partner in peace-building has left an indelible mark upon the United States and the world. Eishet Chayil Mi Yimtza — “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her worth is far above rubies” (Proverbs 31:10, WMB). Rosalynn Carter embodied these words through her dedication to the most vulnerable, standing beside her husband, President Jimmy Carter, in his presidency and his post-presidency humanitarian efforts.

The Carter family’s commitment to justice, equality, and peace has modeled a profound alignment with the biblical command to “do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8, WMB). Through their work with Habitat for Humanity, advocacy for global health, and promotion of democratic values, they have blessed not only the United States but countless nations.

As we honor their contributions, we also look ahead to the unfolding history of the United States under the leadership of Donald J. Trump, who is poised to transition into office as the 47th President. While President Trump’s journey has been marked by controversy and contention, we acknowledge the sovereign hand of YHWH in the rise and fall of leaders. “The Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will” (Daniel 4:17, WMB).

President Trump’s legacy thus far has included a focus on restoring national sovereignty, advocating for economic revitalization, and addressing global security. His administration carries a promise to lead America into a trajectory of renewed strength and influence on the world stage, echoing the hope found in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans that I have for you, says YHWH, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future.”

However, we also recognize the spiritual and political warfare surrounding his leadership. The Adversary seeks to sow division and strife, but as believers, we are called to intercede fervently for our leaders. As it is written: “I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1–2, WMB).

Let us, therefore, unite in prayer for President Trump, his family, and his administration:

1. For Wisdom and Guidance: That YHWH grants him discernment to lead righteously (Proverbs 3:5–6).

2. For Protection and Strength: That no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

3. For National Unity: That the divisions within the United States be healed and that the nation aligns with the divine will (Psalm 133:1).

The current status of the United States — a nation grappling with economic, social, and spiritual challenges — calls for a global response. As America’s actions ripple across the world, the church must stand as a light to the nations, declaring the coming Kingdom of God and urging repentance. “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people” (Proverbs 14:34, WMB).

May the administration of President Trump be one that steers the nation toward justice, mercy, and humility, reflecting the principles of the Torah and the teachings of the Messiah, Yeshua HaMashiach. Let the nations look to America not for its power alone but for its testimony as a people walking in covenant with YHWH.

In closing, let us heed the words of Psalm 33:12: “Blessed is the nation whose God is YHWH, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.”

May we as a global body of believers and as stewards of governance commit ourselves to prayer, action, and hope for the restoration of all things under the sovereign reign of the King of Kings.

L’Shalom,
