Subject: The Role of Governments and the Church in Establishing the New Jerusalem

Date: November 11, 2024

Esteemed leaders of governments and the Church,

In this divinely appointed season, a pressing need has emerged for global governments and the Church to forge a partnership committed to establishing the New Jerusalem. This alliance must involve material support, policy alignment, and an unyielding focus on both social and spiritual well-being. Just as Nehemiah sought and relied upon the support of those in power to restore Jerusalem, so too must the Messiah’s lineage receive the assistance of earthly authorities to fulfill a divine purpose. The scriptural mandate, as shown in the World Messianic Bible (Nehemiah 2:17–18), calls for rebuilding with conviction and with the cooperation of the faithful and governmental bodies alike.

Objectives and Strategic Role of Governments and the Church

1. Material and Structural Support

The lineage of the Messiah, chosen to shepherd this holy endeavor, must have sufficient material resources to effectively fulfill this mission. The support required includes:

Relocation assistance to ensure stability and establish a solid foundation for leadership.

Alleviation of adverse social determinants that could obstruct the work of the divine lineage.

As it is written, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the Lord of Hosts” (Haggai 2:8). Just as in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah, earthly resources must be provided to enable the holy work to progress unimpeded. By supporting the Messiah’s mission, governments and the Church enable the divine purpose to unfold without hindrance.

2. Unity in Governance and Faith

Our world today is rife with divisions that fracture communities, states, and nations. This discord hinders the mission of constructing the New Jerusalem — a kingdom of righteousness, peace, and justice. It is critical that:

• Governments enact policies promoting peace, justice, and cooperation.

• The Church becomes an unwavering model of unity, acting as a singular body under God’s sovereign rule.

The scriptures declare, “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1). We are called to be one body, united in faith and purpose. Let the Church and government lead by example, demonstrating that unity under the Messiah can heal and restore.

3. Defending the Kingdom Mission

As we build, we must also be vigilant in defending the mission. The opposition we face is both seen and unseen, a spiritual struggle that demands our preparedness to withstand forces that would seek to disrupt or dilute this calling. Just as the Israelites defended themselves with sword in one hand and the trowel in the other (Nehemiah 4:17), we, too, must:

• Equip faith leaders and officials to stand resilient and discerning.

• Encourage vigilance against spiritual and worldly opposition, knowing that Kingdom work cannot be postponed.

We are warned of the stakes in the scriptures, “For the day will declare it, because it is revealed by fire” (1 Corinthians 3:13). In this context, the world faces the prospect of destruction by fire, signifying the consequences of collective disobedience and unfaithfulness to divine commandments. This is not simply an end; it is a call for repentance and re-alignment with God’s eternal plan.

KPI’s and Outcomes for Kingdom-Building

The establishment of the New Jerusalem will require a strategic approach, measurable by key performance indicators (KPI’s) aligned with divine purposes:

Resource Allocation and Stability: Governments and churches to prioritize allocations supporting the Messiah’s lineage, securing an enduring foundation for leadership.

Policy and Doctrine Alignment: Enacting and reinforcing policies and doctrines that foster peace, justice, and unity, reflecting the ethics of the kingdom of God.

Preparedness for Spiritual and Worldly Defense: Equipping communities with the necessary spiritual and material readiness to defend and uphold the mission of building the New Jerusalem.

Conclusion

The call to establish the New Jerusalem is not a call for temporary reform but for eternal impact, echoing the words of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah) to be “on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). Global leaders and communities of faith are hereby urged to rise above personal and institutional agendas, aligning instead with God’s ultimate purpose.

As we heed this divine call, let us be united, strong, and unwavering. Together, may we hold a shovel in one hand and a sword in the other, building and defending this holy work toward the realization of the New Jerusalem. He who has an ear, let him hear the urgency of this mandate.

Let us proceed in partnership, with the blessing of Adonai, to fulfill this vision for the eternal kingdom.

With solemn purpose and divine authority,

EF, Rav

The Messiah | Shalom
